Lino Cut Spring Prints

Come along and learn how to design, carve and print your own designs. This workshop is suitable for all levels, those just starting out, and those who wish to develop their skills.

21st Nov 2017
10:00AM - 2:30PM

Adobe Stock 159965878

In this fun session participants will produce a design and transfer it to lino, learn how to carve it and then then use hand printing methods to print. All levels are welcome at this fun, easy to learn, creative workshop.

The design will be one colour and there is the opportunity to enhance your design with the addition of collage, also known as Chine Collé .

Chine Collé is a technique that allows you to add colour to your prints without making another block. Using Chine Collé you are able to print on fine, delicate papers which are bonded onto the printing paper during the printing process. You can try tissue papers, maps, sheet music, wrapping paper, newspaper, paper from old books, magazine images  -  any delicate, thin papers.
You will take home a set of A5 prints.

Included in the workshop….
All printing materials and equipment (including some tissue)
A delicious lunch and tea/coffee on arrival

Please bring with you...
A design that you would like to print that will fit on A5 with a border around it.
Interesting or personal papers such as maps, letters, text, images etc that you would like to include in your print.
Tweezers to help handle the fine tissues and papers
An apron (we will be using water-based inks)
Your enthusiasm!
